One of my favorite days of the week (well in the blog world) is Wednesday because it's time for Random Dozen!


1. Please share one memory of your high school graduation. Pics would be great!
WOW! Ya no pictures will be appearing on here! It's funny to have this question because this summer is my 10 year reunion! Yes I know I am young, can't help it! But with my reunion coming up (that I don't think I am going to be able to make) it has me remembering those days! I have many good memories from that day but one thing I remember most is after the processional we came back out to a song ("Friends Forever" by Vitamin C...hahaha)& all stood on stage to throw our hats in the air. Don't tell me why but I just remember standing there with my girlfriends being so excited that we were done! Crazy!

2. What is one "emergency use" item you keep in your vehicle at all times?
Do snacks for my kids count as an emergency, cause they do in my car?!

3. In your region, do you celebrate graduation open houses? Addendum: (If so,) how many open houses/bridal showers/weddings are on your upcoming events calendar?
Yes we do have graduation parties. We have 1 graduation, at least 2 bday parties in the next 3 weeks, 1 wedding before the end of the month...not to much so far!

5. What was the last thing you broke?
My bank account!

6. On average, how many pieces of junk mail do you receive daily?
At least 2 or 3...so annoying!

7. Do you like to shop by catalog?
I don't know if I consider that I like it, but occasionally I will order something!

8. Is lawn maintenance at your house a "his job," a "her job" or "his/her job" or "that's why we have teenagers" job?
Right now it's "his job", but only until our kids become teenagers, cause let's face it that's why you have kids! HAHAHA!

9. Which room would you like to redecorate in your home?
Our bedroom, it's always been the "catch all room"!

10. Do you read a newspaper regularly, or do you read most of your news on line?
Okay this will probably sound bad but most of my news comes from "The View"! I know sad huh?

11. Do you believe everything happens for a reason?
Absolutely! I know God has a plan & He is in control!

12. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
Doing the right thing! Something I try to teach my boys everyday!

Random Dozen

1. What was the last thing about which you procrastinated?
Cleaning! I HATE cleaning & I am still putting it off...just til tomorrow!

2. How long does it take you to fall asleep,
and do you sleep through the night?
It depends on the night, some night I am out quick & others it takes 30 minutes or even a few hrs! I don't remember the last time I slept through the night, I always have to get up at some point to pee.

3. Which decade would you choose to
exemplify your favorite fashion styles?
Not a clue! I wear what fits & is clean...what decade is that?
The young mother decade!

4. What is your personal best dish to feed a crowd?
That's a hard one...people love all my dishes! HAHAHA just kidding! Probably my taco soup or maybe my Outback Chicken. Oh no I know...my Asparagus! YUMMO!!!!!!

5. Are you an impulse shopper? What was the last
thing you bought on impulse?
Yes I am an impulse shopper but I am also the queen of returns! I can't of what the last thing was off the top of my head but I know there was something!

6. What is one wish you have for your own funeral?
That it doesn't happen for a long, long, long, long, long, (get my drift?) LONG time!

7. If it's true that joy is in found in the simple things in life, what does your joy look like today?
Taking Drew to the doctor this morning just him & I or taking Sam to the dentist this afternoon just him & I! Being able to spend one on one time with my boys is pure joy!

8. What is your favorite type of bread?
Ciabatta bread! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9. What trait do you fear developing the most?
(Laziness, greediness, grumpiness, etc.)
Laziness, definitely. It's hard to keep things clean with these 2 boys. Plus with the hubby away it's easy to forget about how the house looks til he's on his way home Thursday nights!

10. What trait would you like most to develop?
Gentleness. I have a tenancy to be full force all the time, I wish I could calm down & be a little more gentler!

11. Which room in your house best reflects your personality? Why?
I don't know if any of them do. My guest room is pretty in purple with hydrangeas all around. My kitchen is another favorite room with coffee knickknacks all over. But probably the closes would be the dinning room. 3 plain beige walls with a big kick of red on one wall. :)

12. How do you maintain balance in your life regarding, work, family, church, other organizations and activities, and blogging?
Honestly I don't know if I do. Blogging definitely falls to the wayside a lot. My family life is first , then everything else falls into place I guess.

Random Dozen

1. Have you ever been so lost that you were really afraid?
Yes, several times! Just recently in Bham, trying to find a Sonic. My GPS took me into a very questionable part of town! It's was really scary!

2. Have you ever been to an island?

I have actually. In highschool I went with a friend to Sanbel Island, we didn't even have a car on the island! It was great!

3. Are you more of a thinker or feeler?

I think I am a combination of both, but I am not sure how that makes me feel...

4. Do you tend to see issues or situations in life as

black and white or shades of gray?

GRAY! I come from a long line of family who only sees things as black & white, we but heads ALOT! I will say there are some issues that are black & white though. Jesus is the King of King, that is black & white!!!!

5. If you were stuck on an island,

what book would you hope to have with you

(Let's pretend the Bible is already there,so you can't say that.)
A phone book with a satalite phone is probably not what your looking for huh?

6. What are you most afraid of?

Losing one of my boys or the GD. The thought of losing anyone in my family is unthinkable but losing one of my boys...I know I would live through it, but it would take a lot!

7. Would you rather lose all of your old memories or

never be able to make new ones?

Oh WOW! What a question! Well would I be able to remember the new memories when they became old memories, or would those become the old memories I can't remember anymore?

8. Pretend I'm looking at a scrapbook page about you. There are three spaces for you to drop in individual pictures. What are those pictures of, and why did you select them?

A picture of me with my Mom, Dad, Mee-Mee, & Paw-Paw all together, a picture of the GD & I on our wedding day, & a picture of me with my boys. I think it's pretty self explanatory. Those would be some of the most precious memories I have.

9. If you were re-doing your wedding, what would you do differently? (If you're single, tell me one thing you would do if you were planning a wedding OR huge party.)

I would have had a bigger reception & partied!!!!

10. Tell me one thing you know/believe about forgiveness.

True forgiveness starts at the foot of the cross. Jesus forgives us & so we must forgive others!

11. You're waiting in a doctor's office.

What is your favorite way to pass that time?

Text or talk on the phone.

12. If there were a clone of you in a parallel universe what is one way you hope she/he would be the same as you and one way you hope she/he would be better?
I would hope she loves her family as much as I do! I would hope she was skinner than me! :)

Random Dozen

In an effort to clear my mind I did these Random Dozen yesterday & scheduled it to go up today. Seems kind of frivolous now. None the less my Random Dozen...


1. Ever had any run-ins with the "library police?"
Not that I remember, so I guess no!

2. Do you have a special organizational plan and place for wrapping paper, gift bags, etc., or do you just purchase whatever you need as you give gifts?
I have 2 containers that I keep all bags & wrapping paper in. One is all Christmas & the other is everything else. I still try to keep them organized some.

3. Have you ever been in (first-hand witness) a natural disaster?
What would first hand count as? I mean I lived in FL so I saw plenty of hurricanes. And I live in south AL so I have seen plenty of tornadoes.

4. What's your favorite Barry Manilow song?
Not a huge Manilow fan, but I remember Rachael on F*R*I*E*N*D*S singing "Copacabana". Don't judge me!

5. What's the best costume you've ever worn?
Not really big on costumes, as a kid I dressed up for Halloween, but I am not a fan of that holiday actually.

6. Which do you use more often, the dictionary or the thesaurus?
Dictionary

7. What's your favorite breakfast food?
Oh hard one, Monkey Bread, or egg, cheese, sausage & bacon on a ciabatta roll! Or my hubby makes the best french toast! I am hungry now!!!!

8. Have you ever purchased anything from an infomercial?
Unfortunately yes.
The pasta pot that had a strainer built in...FAIL!

9. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Um I am a big girl, I don't crawl!

10. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Oh hard question. Yes & no. I think I feel in love with my hubby at second sight. The first time we met I was sort of dating someone else but the next time we talked I knew he was it for me! 9 yrs later, I am more in love with him today!

11. How man pairs of jeans do you own?
2 jeans, & 1 capri. Is that sad?

12. If someone were going to bake a cake to honor/represent you, what would it be? (Think creatively, like Duff and Crew on "Ace of Cakes.")
I am not sure. Maybe a huge purse open, with like bills, keys, my whole life falling out, & toys scattered all about. Sounds cute or scary depending on your point of view!

Another Wednesday & Another Random Dozen!

1. How do you feel about "Gladiator" sandals, also called "Roman" or "Jesus" sandals? A fashion yea or nay?
Nay! I just can't get into this fashion trend! They just look like bondage of some sort!

2. What is your favorite pizza?
BBQ Chicken or Pepperoni...just not on the same pie!

3. There are plans in the works to sell roughly 1,000 items from Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. This means you could buy Picard's chair for your family room. If not a Star Trek item, what prop, background, set, etc. from what TV or movie would you buy if you could?
[Ex: Hurley's "I Love my Shih tzu" shirt from LOST, the plantation home "Tara" from Gone With the Wind, or Tracy's tambourine from the Partridge Family.]
Let's see does Dr. McDreamy from Greys Anatomy count as a prop? Cause I will take him! The first real prop that was in my mind was the couch from F*R*I*E*N*D*S in Central Perk!

4. Name a local food or restaurant that your area is famous for.
I can't think of anything that Central AL is famous for, maybe greasy hamburgers?

5. What is your current favorite snack?

Parmesan & Garlic Cheezits! YUMMO!



6. Hypothetical: You are required to be a reality show contestant. Which show would you choose based on your probability of success? (You cannot choose "none.")

Well I think none of those I would do that great on! But I guess I would pick Biggest Loser, maybe I could stick with it & manage to lose a little weight at the same time!

7. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being uninhabitable and 10 being cleanliness that meets the standards of OCD, how clean is your vehicle's interior?
Oh man if I am being honest then I would have to say 3. I think it's clean & then I move car seats! I mean seriously do kids stuff food under their seats? That's the only thing I can figure!

8. It doesn't feel like Spring until _________.
I break out the flip flops!

9. Something that made you laugh really hard recently is ____.
Looking back at some video's on my phone of Sam-Man break dancing!

10. Tell me about a goal you're working toward.
That's easy...Thursday...making sure the kids & I don't kill each other between now & when the GD comes home!

What a question...Simple things like surprise ice cream trips, or chasing them around the backyard. Or things like taking them to church & teaching them about Jesus, knowing that is more important than any little thing!

*Whether friendship or love, I think the most important thing is TRUST! If you can't trust your partner how can anything else fall into place?

2. Why is it called a "drive-through" if you have to stop?

3. As I type this, the Butler Bulldogs are getting ready to play in the NCAA championship game. Every Hoosier is hysterical about this except me. So in honor of the Bulldogs ...what is your favorite breed of dog? (I tried.)
*Could care less about basketball, but as for dog breed I would have to go with Malti-poo since that is what our puppy is!

4. If you had to move to a state besides the one
you currently live in,where would you move?
*Back to Florida!

5. If you could change anything about the way
you were raised, what would it be?
*Nothing, honestly nothing! Everything I went through & was taught made me the woman I am today!

6. Who's the funniest person you know?
*As much as I hate to say it, it would have to be a tie between my husband & 2 of my dearest friends (Sheila & Erin)! All 3 of them know how to crack me up all the time!

7. Did you get enough sleep last night?
*No, thanks to Drew who showed up in my bed sometime around
1am & then kicked me all night!

8. What's the first thing you thought about this morning?
*I have to pee!

*I live in the south baby...we fry everything!

*Not the dark so much what could be hiding in the dark!

but always ALWAYS a Mom first!

Another Wednesday which means 2 things...the GD comes home tomorrow night! And Random Dozen!



1. If you could compete in one Olympic event (not necessarily winter sports) what would it be?
*To compete would have to mean I was good at it, so I will go with figure skating! I love watching them twirl around the ice with such ease! Actually I sprained my ankle as a kid, okay 12, trying to do a double axle in my grandparents living room!
True story!

2. Do remember a specific Olympic moment from the past?
*See above! LOL! I also remember watching as Kerri Strug landed that last vault with an injury to win gold for the USA in '96! What a win that was!

3. Have you ever known anyone who competed in the Olympics?
*By know do you mean really know, or think you know...like you imagine that if you ran into Kristi Yamaguchi on the street you would start gabbing like old friends. Remembering those times you fell while trying a double axle! Oh wait...

4. If everyday activities were Olympic-worthy, which activity would you have a gold medal in?
*Um...being a Mom...duh!

5. Do you know anything about your ethnic heritage?
*Not much, I know there is German, Italian, Cherokee Indian...basically I am mix of it all!

6. Do you enjoy sleeping late?
*I do enjoy it, of course late to me is 7! Don't get to do it often though!

7. Have you ever performed CPR on anyone? Do you know how? (Yes, that's two, I know. Whatevs.)
*Does the dumby that you practice on count? No? Well then no I have never had to do it, but I do know how to do it. Pray I never have to use it though!

8. Name one country you'd like to visit and explain why.
*Anywhere in the Caribbean! Do I really need to explain why?

9. Have you ever fixed up a couple romantically?
*If attempting that in middle school counts then sure!

*To my knowledge no I have not. I have however dug crayon out of both of my boys mouths over the years! And talk about a work of art when it come out the other end!

Ramdom Dozen

What a rut! I am in a major blogging rut! I can't seem to find time or energy to sit down & blog! Not to mention I don't feel like I have much important to say lately! :P So in a effort to get my mind going (and my blog going) again I thought I would do a new (to me) blog carnival over at Linda's Place! A few people I follow do this one so I thought it would be a good one to get me going!
So without further a do...


1. Are you pleasant when you're ill,
or are you a grumpy, fussy patient?
*I hate to admit it, but I am a grumpy fussy patient! Especially when it's a cold or stomach crud! Those are no fun! But the reality is Momma can't stop long enough to get cranky we just gotta keep going!!!

2. When you find out that school is canceled
(due to inclement weather)what is your gut reaction?
*Honestly...UHHHH! I love my son dearly, but when school is canceled because of weather that means we are stuck in the house! Which means all that is going to happen is the boys will be driving each other crazy, which means I will be driven crazy as well!

3. What is one domestic skill you wish you could improve?
*Cleaning, hands down! And the reality is I could improve that if I wanted too but I HATE to clean! A lot of times I see no purpose because I have kids! What's that saying "It's like shoveling snow in a blizzard!" That's how it feels!

4. Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day?
*Nope, just Christmas. I do have a cute wall hanger for the front door but that's it!

5. What song is on your mind today?
*"Live Like We're Dying" by Kris Allen

6. Do you prefer contemporary movies or classic?
*I would have to say contemporary however my 2 fav movies are "Gone With The Wind" & "White Christmas".

7. How well do you "compartmentalize" your feelings? For example, how well can you put aside a really trying moment to deal with the immediate situation which is not related to the trying moment, e.g., putting aside a
tiff with your spouse in order to finish wallpapering a room.
*I don't think I am very good at it, I act like I am but really I just really quite until I can't handle it anymore & I explode! And I am a talker so I want to talk it out until it's dead, or the hubby is...whichever comes first! J/K!

8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse?
(Or if you're single, to your best friend.)
*His eyes. Not just the color but the emotion I saw behind them. The reality is I knew I loved him & would spend the rest of my life with him after one conversation!

9. When was the last time your heart raced?
*Is it sad that it's not romantic related? It was when Drew started throwing up a few nights ago! It's not a love thing it's a vomit thing!

10. What are your memories of Valentine's Day at school?
*Not really any, just the typical boxes & valentines

11. If you were going to receive candy for Valentine's Day, which would you prefer?
*I am not really a candy/chocolate person but I do love me some Cheesecake! That counts right?!?!

12. Red or pink?
*That's a tough one but I think I have to go with Pink!
